Bible Quiz!

C1 competed in his first AWANA Bible Quiz Competition. He practiced with his team for a few months. It was a tough committment because it meant that he had to be at church from 4-7:45 for many weeks, during football season! He really enjoyed his coach and teammate and had a good time preparing. He had to learn so many scriptures and facts about the Bible. But by this morning, he had them cold. It was truly amazing to me! He insists that I could learn them too, but we both know that is not true, he is just a sweetheart!
The competition had two parts. The first part consisted of multiple choice where he had to raise a paddle to indicate his answer. The second part was more of a speed competition and he had to use a buzzer.
He and his teammate won first place for Colonial Baptist Church and he won another award for not missing one question. We are as proud as could be! These pictures show a few highlights of the morning, including his celebratory lunch afterward.

We love you C! We pray that you would continue to hide God's Word in your heart!

Poor J

Okay, J loves his milk, Silk Soymilk in the purple carton to be exact! Well, today when he woke up from his nap, we didn't have any. I asked Dad to bring some home on the way home from work, but J wasn't hearing any of that. He dragged me over to the fridge and opened it, searching for some milk.

Where is the milk? There must be some in here!

Maybe it is on a higher shelf!

What's that? I think I spotted something! Oops, no, that is just Mommy's creamer for coffee. Shucks!

Wait! Here is something that looks good!

Yeah! How about some Pedialyte mom?

No pictures of what occurred after I took that away. Too busy consoling the poor soul! Mental note - never be without Silk Soymilk in the purple container.
On a different note - have you ever seen a child that sucks his thumb and picks his nose at the same time? Must get it from one of his brothers!

My sweet J! You'll think this is all funny when you are a bit older!

Snow Day!

We got snow in NC! Not only did we get snow, but we got about 6 inches! Big C was beside himself, as most of you know that is what is misses most about not being in NY anymore! Because the South is not really equipped for this kind of weather, everything basically shuts down. Big C didn't have to go to work, so he was able to stay home and play with us all day. Unfortunately, we weren't really equipped for the snow either, with no boots or snowpants. But the boys handled it fine. I don't think they enjoyed the snow any less! We had two days filled with sleigh riding, snowball fights, building snowmen and football in the snow. I think we have made enough memories to last another couple of years until we get more snow like this! C2 made a snowball and we put it in the freezer, just in case it takes that long!

Lego Madness!

The Lego sets from Christmas are officially done! The boys were so proud they asked if we could put them on the blog. We are also amazed at these creations, we are talking hundreds of pieces, pages of directions, and lots of hours. Even our neighbor got in on the action as you can see in the last pic. I know some of you are wondering if we had another!
Since J isn't yet a Lego Maniac, here is a picture of him with a chocolate milk moustache!

Biblo Catcher

We are studying Colonial Times this semester. It has been a lot of fun. This week we made a Biblo Catcher. A biblo catcher was a toy made by Colonial children. It is the toy where you have a cup and a ball attached to a string. You toss the ball in the air and try to catch it with the cup. In Colonial Times they were made with wood and clay. We made ours out of simple things found around the house. Check it out!

Materials: large styrofoam cup, yarn, foil, tape, ruler, a sharp pencil and scissor

Step 1 Step 2

Step 3 Final Product

Challenge: Try to catch the ball in the cup!

I really liked this craft! It was quick, we had everything at home, and everyone could do it! I think the boys like it too! They were a little frustrated trying to get in in the cup at first, but once they got the hang of it, they enjoyed it.

Green Drink!

For Christmas, my sweet husband, bought me a high powered blender. I have wanted one for a long time so I can make green drinks for ourfamily. My old blender was from our wedding and wasn't able to handlethe greens. So now we drink a green drink every day and we all love it AND we have avoided major sickness so far this year! Yeah!

In the first picture there are flax seeds, an apple, strawberries, cranberries, blueberries, kale, ice and water. We have used many combinations and love them all!The combinations are endless and I am just getting started!

It grinds it down right to a juice, as you can see in the second photo.I could never get my boys to eat kale and now they drink it every day!

Thanks Baby! I love my Christmas gift and so does everyone else!

Christmas Morning!

Every year Uncle Jimmy gives the boys a bunch of coins to sort out and buy gifts for the family. After buying all their gifts they had $12 left. So, this is me pictured with my $12 Trader Joe card. :) I was told that I am ONLY to buy treats for myself with it! YUM!

Christmas Day Fun!

Okay, all my blogger friends, I guess I am in need of a lesson in digital scrapbooking. Anyone interested?
Happy New Year!
