Field Trip to the Apple Orchard!

Last week we had a field trip to the apple orchard, our first since moving to NC. Unfortunately, there weren't any apples left by the time our trip came around :(. It didn't really matter because we had a great time anyway! First the owner of the orchard allowed the children to sample all kinds of apples, which they loved. Then he showed them the process of making cider, from the time you pick it off the tree until you drink it. You can see in the picture how he is making cider the old-fashioned way. It was delicious. After that we took a hayride and picked pumpkins. It was a great day!

This looks like a great field trip. And I love the Medieval feast..what wonderful costumes! I'm going to miss the Shinn girls! We need to do breakfast again...
