Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas! God has blessed our family in ways you cannot imagine. We are so thankful!

Unfortunately, our camera erased all of our Christmas pictures. We are very disappointed to say the least. Here are a few that we took after we discovered the mishap.
Big C and J playing with the Handy Mandy tool bench. Santa scored with that gift!

All the boys sporting their new Patriot's gear from Nana! They were very excited!!

C2 bought me this Snuggie. I couldn't be happier. I am always cold. This was the perfect gift for me!!

International Fair

Our homeschool group hosted an International Fair. Each of the boys chose a country and did a display board, made a food from that country and shared a small report in front of the group. It was a lot of fun and they did a great job!

L did Puerto Rico!

C2 chose Spain.

C1 chose Poland.
(I would put more pictures, but I am having trouble with blogger!)

Camp Flintlock

We went on a field trip to Camp Flintlock. It was a place that was set up like a Colonial Camp. The boys got to participate in different stations such as: Colonial Dress, Colonial Games, Quilling, Tomahawk Throwing, and Indian necklace making.
Unfortunately, my camera wasn't working well and the pictures are a bit fuzzy, but it was such a fun time that I wanted to post them anyway.

Ocean Field Trip

We took a lot of field trips in the month of November! It was busy, but lots of fun! One trip we went on was a trip to Masonboro Island. We took a boat over to the island and while we were there we participated in three different stations: crabbing, exploring the marsh, and identifying shells. Here are some highlights.

The island from the boat!

Teaching time on the boat!

Arriving at the island.

C2 entered his Lego Schoolhouse into the Lego Competition. He didn't win, but it was fun!

A really fun time!

Invention Convention

Our homeschool Tapestry of Grace Coop held an Invention Convention as our Unit 1 Celebration. The boys had learned all about the beginning of the Industrial Revolution and some great inventors and now it was time for them to create some inventions of their own. They did a wonderful job!
We'll start with C2. His invention was called the Remote Tracker. He was tired of us always loosing the remote, so together with his dad, he came up with this invention. He actually used a remote control car to create it!
C1, being the lover of all things sweet decided to create Clementine Soda. He did a great job, it was actually quite good.
He took the ingredients you see below and blended them in my Vita-Mix blender.
The original idea was to then make that mixture into tablets that you could dissolve in seltzer water for the soda. You can see him here trying to put them into a mold. We then put the mold into my food dehydrator to create a capsule, but it didn't work. They completely dried out. So he just poured the mixture into some seltzer instead.
Lastly we have L. He decided to do a report on an inventor. He chose Thomas Jefferson! His presentation was excellent.
It was a wonderful day! We are very proud of the boys for all of their hard work!
